The "Cake Decorating Corner" Interviews Sarah Myers of High Five Cakes
April 2014
Sarah Myers broke into the cake decorating scene just a few years ago, but it didn’t take long for her name to start showing up everywhere. In the last year, she has become part of the Icing Images® Spellbinders® Design Team and just recently, she launched her own line of colors with Sugar Art.
She has won every live challenge she’s competed in and plans to compete later this week at the National Capital Area Cake Show with her teammate, Karen Vazquez.
Sarah’s personality is every bit as memorable as her cakes; she’s incredibly funny and says it like it is. There are no airs about Sarah; she’s about as real as you can get. She brings a vibrant energy to her demonstrations and hopes to lure students not only for the learning, but for the entertainment value.

MTV Geek Celebrates Tim Burton's 55th Birthday With 'Cakenweenie'
8/25/13
A few months ago we chatted with Tracey Rothwell about her geektastic cake business, Little Cherry/Black Cherry and now she’s back with a new venture. She gathered 100 bakers from around the world to celebrate the birthday of a man who is without a doubt one of the most renowned innovators past and present, Tim Burton, for the project "Cakenweenie."
MTV Geek: How has Burton’s style when it comes to movie making influenced your life and baking style?
Sarah Myers: He pushes the envelope. He lets his imagination run wild and produces something that makes people want more. I love all things whimsical, weird and gory. I try to put an original spin on the norm.
